Over the past few months, I have noticed a number of conservative groups embrace the saying “LGB without the TQ,”¹ but this is not a consistent conservative position, and its certainly not a biblical position. With this has come the acceptance of groups like Gays Against Groomers and the Log Cabin Republicans, but these organizations are both Trojan Horses invading the conservative movement.² Not only does “LGB without the TQ” normalize homosexuality, but it’s rooted in the same worldview. We wouldn’t be dealing with the “TQ” without the “LGB.”

Common Philosophy

We’ve forgotten that homosexual “marriage” is a crisis of reality, just like transgenderism. If you accept the premise that two men (or women) can be married, then you have accepted the underlying ideology of the trans movement. Gay “marriage” is a trans-marriage, where a man can replace a wife, or a woman can replace a husband. It destroys the Truth of sex distinctions (Gen. 1:27, ESV). We could lay the argument out this way.

P¹: Marriage is a lifelong union between one man and one woman.

P²: “Gay marriage” replaces a husband with a wife or a wife with a husband.

C: Therefore, “gay marriage” treats the sexes as interchangeable and is a trans marriage.

Not only is the Trans movement grounded in the same worldview as homosexuality, but it’s also building off of the same arguments that had success in the past.

Trans activists are using the same playbook adapted to their cause just as their homosexual forefathers. Organizations such as Gays Against Groomers are trying to normalize their position of homosexuality at the expense of others within their LGBTQIA+ coalition—they are trying to maintain progress for themselves and keep the ratchet from turning back.

The Ratchet

This is an example of the dialectical ratchet, where public policy will swing far to the left, and when the public pushes back, it will only return to the last click or locked position. For example, eight years ago the Supreme Court released the Obergefell decision legally redefining marriage. Soon after, there were pushes to accept trans “rights” by pushing for gender-neutral bathrooms, “x” markers for gender, and changing sex on birth certificates. All these positions are just as crazy as they were five years ago, but now they have pushed trans ideology on our children. This was too far, and now the public is pushing back.

Though, it seems that as long as they “just leave the kids alone,” there is no interest in regaining ground in reality, as the ratchet has locked one more notch to the left. What happened to rejecting “x” markers on passports or regaining a true legal definition of marriage by overturning Obergefell? Today’s conservatives, in many ways, are to the left of a 2008 Democrat. Remember, President Obama ran on marriage as a man and a woman during his first term.³ Now, it’s okay to be a gay conservative; you can even support abortion and pay surrogate mothers to not be involved with the children they carried for homosexual men. There were even 12 Republican Senators who voted to pass the “Respect for Marriage Act.”⁴ There is nothing conservative about this.

Trojan Horse

Family is the building block of society. In Genesis, God created the first marriage between Adam and Eve (Gen. 1:28, 2:18-25; Matt. 19:4-6). This is the foundation of all human relationships and the model for filling the Earth with new image-bearers (remember, gay marriage is just as sterile as gender mutilation). Husbands and wives build families, that build neighborhoods, which build cities, and then nations. If we cannot conserve the family, then we’ll conserve nothing else.

The secular conservative movement may have abandoned the family, but Christians understand that marriage is more than a human contract, it’s theological. Marriage is the worldly image of Christ and His bride (Eph. 5:32). This necessitates a man to love his wife as Christ loved the church (Eph. 5:25-29). And it requires that a woman is to follow her husband’s leadership, as Christ leads His bride the church (Eph. 5:33, Titus 2:4-5). This is a lifelong covenant between two believers, just as God’s covenant is eternally between Him and His people (Matt. 19:6). Christians cannot abandon the fight for marriage (Eph. 6:12). Even if our unbelieving neighbors don’t understand the theological implications of God’s design for marriage, we must fight to order our society for the Good, and that can only be found in ordering life after God’s design (Prov. 1:24-26).

“LGB without the TQ” is a Trojan Horse. American has been so catechized by the homosexual movement that they now look like allies in the fight against Trans ideology. We will never win the spiritual battle over these lies by partnering with the people who paved the way (2 John 1:7-11). Remember, the now commonly accepted founding of the “gay rights” movement was the Stonewall Riots, which were riots over a New York law that criminalized cross-dressing.⁵ Trans has been a part of their movement since the beginning, and there was always a plan to normalize the behavior. In the 1989 book After the Ball, authors Kirk and Madsen stated,

“First, you get your foot in the door, by being as similar as possible; then, and only then—when your one little difference (orientation) is finally accepted—can you start dragging in your other particularities, one by one. You hammer in the wedge narrow end first. As the saying goes, allow the camel’s nose beneath your tent, and the whole body will soon follow.”⁶

Brothers and sisters, it’s time to kick the camel’s nose out of the tent.
